Electro Harmonix is a brand owned by the American New Sensor Corporation and manufactured at the Xpo-Pul - Reflektor factory in Saratov, Russia. The Electro-Harmonix 12AY7 / 6072A is a high quality, low noise dual triode preamp tube, and is a great replacement for any similar tube type in any amp, and especially earlier model Fender Tweed amps, where this tube defined the "Tweed Era Sound". Tonally this tube is all American, and is an affordable alternative, offering smooth mids, and solid low end. Offering medium gain, (40mu) it can be substituted for 12AX7 in most preamps, reducing gain and increasing headroom. It is also commonly used in the phase inverter in many amps.
